Mr McFarlane was a pool supervisor for ten years before he developed his program to teach CPR to school children.
“I targeted regional towns because unlike coastal areas a lot of regional towns kids haven’t had a go at CPR despite having a lot of bush creeks and dams on farms and I thought it was vital they learn CPR.
“At the end of the day if my program saves one life I’ve hit my aim,” he said.
