Police have launched an investigation after they were called to the Hobart waterfront on Monday evening and found a deceased man floating in the water.

The man was pulled from the water after 10PM on Monday near Franklin Wharf - Hobart's main waterfront area.
"An investigation is underway into the circumstances prior to the man entering the water," a statement from police read.
No further details about the man, or whether police suspect foul play, was available.
Detectives are calling for any witnesses to the incident to come forward by calling 131 444.
