Head to Currabubula for four days of art culture and community during the 2024 Australian Red Cross Currabubula Branch Art Show. The event will be held at Currabubula Hall and showcase the talent of artists from near and far.
Day tickets cost $15 for couples, singles $10, children under 16 free. Opening night will be held on Thursday, May 9, from 6pm to 9pm, with a 60's theme, $20pp; bookings are essential.

Archibald Prize 2023 Regional Tour
When: May 10 - June 23
First awarded in 1921, the Archibald Prize was established following a bequest from former Art Gallery trustee and founder of The Bulletin magazine JF Archibald (1856-1919), whose aim was to foster portraiture, support artists and perpetuate the memory of great Australians.
The open competition has been awarded annually (with two exceptions: 1964 and 1980) to the best portrait, 'preferentially of some man or woman distinguished in arts, letters, science or politics, painted by any artist resident in Australasia'.
Entries to the Archibald Prize must be painted in the past year from at least one live sitting.
World Bellydance Day
World Bellydance Day is on the second Saturday in May, where teams of Bellydancers around the world dance a Shimmy Mob, a Bellydance flash mob held annually to raise awareness of domestic abuse. Soul Embrace Bellydance based in Tamworth will be dancing at these locations on Saturday, May 11 to support on the day:

- Centrepoint Arcade 10:30am-11am
- Front of Ray Walsh House, Peel Street 11am-11:30am
- Fitzroy Street Precinct 11am-11:30am
- Shopping World 12pm-12:30pm
All proceeds will be donated to the Tamworth Family Support Services (TFSS) to help those affected by domestic violence.
Fire & Rescue NSW Open Day
When: Saturday, May 11
Get along to your local Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) fire station on Saturday, May 11 for the annual Open Day, 10am to 2pm. Everyone is welcome. Meet the firefighters, see their specialised equipment and fire trucks - all while learning about how a working smoke alarm can help save lives this winter.

Community Meet & Greet

To help new residents meet and greet while learning about what our region has to offer, council is hosting a "Community Meet and Greet" on Monday, 20 May at the Tamworth Community Centre.
This event aims to facilitate new connections with community organisations, businesses and volunteer groups. And it's FREE!
Expect to meet with local community groups, organisations and council members to help learn more about the community and how you can contribute to it.

Sydney Symphony Orchestra Performs Compassion
