The 10 players from Wentworth in the state's far south-west bought their shares into the winning syndicate at a local newsagent.
Each will take home more than $4 million.
"That's great news for Wentworth. We're in the middle of nowhere," Wentworth Lotto and News owner Rowan Congress said.
"We've only been here for two years and this is the first division one win we've sold. How great that it's a syndicate and lots of people get to share the prize."
IN OTHER NEWS:
One of the syndicate members said she couldn't believe the news.
"We're only a small town and it's crazy to think there's now 10 multi-millionaires here," she said.
The Powerball was drawn on August 31 with the winning numbers 10, 35, 27, 32, 6, 14 and 31, and Powerball number 6.
