A man has tragically died following a two-vehicle crash in Tamworth on Thursday evening.

Emergency services were called to the Oxley Highway, near the Tamworth airport access road, after reports a Ford Fairlane and an MG sedan had collided in the eastbound lanes just after 6.30pm yesterday.
A 79-year-old man, the driver of the Ford, was treated at the scene by ambulance paramedics, but sadly died at the scene.

The driver of the other vehicle - a 41-year-old woman - was assessed to be in a serious condition and was treated at the scene before being taken to Tamworth Base Hospital.
Investigations are underway into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
A crime scene was established and examined by specialist police.
Police have called for any witnesses - including motorists with dashcam vision - to come forward and contact Tamworth Police Station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
