Having qualified for the finals of the 800m and 200m Freestyle events, along with the 400m Individual Medley and the 100m Butterfly, Broderick said Trewern's performance was thrilling, but not unexpected after her strong performance at the NWSSA trials.

The other swimmers whose performances impressed Roderick include Armidale College's Jolanda Hess (ninth in Girls 14 Years 50m Freestyle), Farrer's Jack Lowick (sixth in Boys 13 Years 100m Breaststroke), Oxley's Eliza Griffiths and Glen Innes High School's Cadence McShane (ninth and 10th respectively in the Girls 15 Years 100m Breaststroke), while the Armidale 14 Years Girls relay team came seventh in the 4x50m Freestyle, and the Farrer 13 Years Boys relay team finished seventh in the 4x50m Freestyle.
