It is the first time the three women have bowled together in a high-level competition, and the new partnership has paid dividends as they have qualified for tomorrow's semi-finals.
"We were just happy to turn up, take each game as it came, and try and get as many as we could closer than our opponents," Stewart, the team captain, said.
"We were just working each end as it went and each game as it came."
Both Stewart and Whitten had bowled together in pairs competitions in the past, while Whitten and Fergusson had been a long-time pairing in the senior divisions.
But after a 17-15 win over the Randwick Coogee team in round one, and then a similarly nailbiting 15-12 win in the quarter final against the team from Figtree RSL, Stewart said theirs "may be" a combination that sticks.
Before they discuss the future, the team first has to focus on overcoming a formidable Adaminaby side which dominated both of its games today.

However, Stewart and her teammates are not nervous. Instead, they are excited to take on the challenge and know the pressure is on their opponents not to lose a match which they are favoured to win.
"We don't have a lot to lose," she said.
"We just want to keep turning up, so I just said to the girls 'I know you can do it, so just do it', and they did when they needed to.
"You just go in knowing they're the ones with the pressure on them to win."
The trio have savoured the opportunity to play in front of a home crowd at the South Tamworth Bowling Club, and praised the greens on which their matches were played.
"The greens are lovely, they're rolling pretty nicely," Stewart said.
"The key was just trying to keep strong under pressure. When we moved between greens, there wasn't quite as much finish on the bowls, so that was a little bit hard to get started. But once we got it worked out, it wasn't too bad."
The semi-final between West Tamworth and Adaminaby will take place tomorrow, April 2, from 8.30am. It will be livestreamed on the Bowls NSW website and Facebook page.
The winner of that game will face the winner of the second semi-final between Port Macquarie City and Cabramatta at 12.30pm.
