There has been "a really good" response to Quirindi's seven-race TAB meeting on Monday, the Quirindi Jockey Club secretary manager, Ted Wilkinson, has said.

"We've got good support from Newcastle trainers: Kris Lees and Paul Perry and a couple of others," he said.
Despite the rain in recent days, Wilkinson said the track would be "very safe".
He said there had been light showers throughout Sunday afternoon, with 15mm forecast for the 24-hour period up to 9am on Monday.

"So I'd expect it [the meeting] to be on probably a soft track. Very safe," he said.
He added: "We might get a few scratchings if the track gets too heavy.
"But the steward had a look at it [the track] about an hour ago, and it was still a soft five. It's got a long way to go before it gets waterlogged."
The program includes two benchmark 58s.
The Scott Singleton-trained Mr Cruise (Billy Cray) and the Greg McFarlane-trained Sharkim (Clayton Gallagher) were the joint favourites, at $3.90, for race four: a 1000m benchmark 58.
The William Freedman-trained Vandangle (Bailey Wheeler) was the favourite, at $2.30, for race five: a 1600m benchmark 58.
