"With all the building that's going on and with the infrastructure that's proposed, so they felt confident that it was time to open an Ozdesign store," she said.
No stranger to furnishing a home, Ms Charara who has been with Ozdesign for two years, said she was excited to help people in her hometown create their dream spaces.
"Nothing gives you more joy then a young couple who have built their first home," she said.
"To see the joy it brings them, it's really really good."
With everyone stuck at home for the past two years Ms Charara said she expected to see an influx of amateur home decorators who got inspired during lockdown.
"You find people have taken more of an interest in their homes and want them to look nice because your home's you sanctuary," she said.
Ms Charara said the Tamworth store had been welcomed with open arms and reported customers were "over the moon" at not having to travel to the Newcastle shop, or order online.
While the initial planning for the store started close to 18 months ago, Ms Charara said the store delayed opening until they were confident they could adequately source all their products, given COVID-19 delays and restrictions.
But from Hamptons to industrial, and everything in between, Ms Charara said Ozdesign promises to have something for everyone and offers in-house consultations and mood boarding.
"I myself am happy to open the store a little bit earlier if someone needs to work in with their timeframe," she said.
