Eight young men have been charged with stealing a car in North Tamworth following a pursuit of the stolen vehicle on Friday, according to Oxley Police.

Five male teenagers were arrested while allegedly hiding in a storm drain near Marius and Dean Streets on Friday.
Three more were arrested on Peel Street at about 8.30am on Friday.
All eight were charged with being carried in a conveyance taken without consent of the owner, larceny and two counts of aggravated breaking and entering a dwelling in company.

Oxley Police allege the the men stole a car from North Street, Tamworth on early Friday morning, before breaking into a service station in Booral and then breaking into a second home and a car, stealing personal items.
Officers of the Oxley Police District attempted to stop the stolen vehicle while it was travelling north on the New England Highway just after 7am on Friday, police claim.
The vehicle allegedly failed to stop and police initiated a pursuit.
Road spikes were deployed, but the pursuit was terminated for safety reasons, according to Oxley Police.
Subsequent inquiries revealed the vehicle was stolen, police said.
A short time later, the vehicle was later located abandoned on Brewery Lane in Tamworth, they said. It was seized for examination.
Police searched the surrounding area, and arrested five male teenagers, one aged 19, two 15, one 14 and one 13, allegedly hiding in a storm water drain near Marius and Dean Streets.
At 8.30am police arrested three more young men, aged 24, 22 and 16, near Peel Street.
All eight were taken to Tamworth Police Station, where they were charged.
Police will allege in court that the Holden Commodore had been stolen from a home in North Street, Tamworth, on early Friday morning.
It was driven to a service station on Booral Road, Booral, about 4am, where the young men allegedly broke in and stole soft drink, before fleeing the scene, police will claim in court.
The police case is that a short time later, another motor vehicle and a home were allegedly broken into in Stroud, where personal items were stolen.
The 16-year-old will also face charges of entering inclosed land without a lawful excuse and a second count of aggravated breaking and entering a dwelling in company.
The 24-year-old man was also charged with not stopping during a police pursuit, dangerous driving, driving recklessly or furiously or at dangerous a speed or with a dangerous manner, and driving while his licence was cancelled.
All eight were refused bail to appear before Tamworth court on Saturday
Investigations continue.
