Cady said: "To Mornington's credit, some of their younger batters have definitely improved out of sight."

He added: "I think it was actually a pretty close game ... They got a pretty good score; they got away from us a little bit.

"I think batting wise we were pretty good.

James Mack took 2-20 off four overs for Albion, while Rhyce Kliendienst, Ben Hennessy and Langdon shared the wickets for Mornington.

In the later game, Kookaburras beat Court House by two wickets to win for the first time this season.

After winning the toss and batting, Court House made 6-127 after a 46-ball 63 by opener Jay Urqhart that included 11 fours.

Kookaburras passed the total in the 17th over for the loss of eight wickets.

James Thomas (2-19) and Rowan Keeler (2-25) were Kookaburras' best bowlers, while Peter McCormack (3-12) was Court House's best.

Hima Sekhar Jingilipalem top-scored for Kookaburras with 39, while Keeler made 24 not out off 20 balls, Keeler made 24 not out off 20 balls.
