The gelding ran down the frontrunner to claim the win by half a length in the Buy Your Quast Christmas Turkey Open Handical (1600m).
"I just love getting winners for that owner. He's my number one owner and he's so loyal to me," O'Neile said of owner Tony Aceti.
O'Neile is hopeful Beckford can continue to win as the trainer looks to step him up in distance.
"He needed every bit of the 1600 today. He's ready to go further," O'Neile said.
"We always thought he was a 2000m-plus horse but we've held him back, let him mature. He's now a late four-year-old so he's ready to get out to that 1900m and 2000m distance."
The aim, O'Neile said, was the Armidale Cup in two weeks time.
"He's had two starts at Armidale for two slashing wins so why wouldn't you go back there. He's looking for more ground and he's at 1900. I think it's an obvious choice," O'Neile said.
