Everything is in place for the carnival held in Tamworth and Quirindi this week but the forecast is looming large over the tournament with rain predicted across the four match days.
Kellett, Tamworth Veterans Cricket president, said the association have been doing everything to make sure cricket will be played.
"We got enough synthetic wickets to get off the turf," Kellett said during the week.
"There's five synthetic wickets down at Riverside, then we're going to Nemingah, Kingswood and Goonoo Goonoo. It's much appreciated we can play on those grounds.
"That's the nature of the game. It rains, you get washed out but we've got the synthetic there available. If it's not raining, we'll be playing."

There will be three divisions at the state championships with Tamworth in division two.
Weather permitting, Kellett rated it as one Tamworth's best chances.
"I'd be disappointed if we didn't make the final," Kellett said. "We've probably got as strong a team as we've had for a long time."
Kellett said while there was quality in the side, Tamworth only had a reasonably small squad of 14 players considering they'd be playing four games across five days.
"Five years ago we had oodles," Kellett said of the numbers in over 60s.
"You get a dozen guys and if you have four or five that can't play for four days - you're going to struggle wherever you are.
"We've got the nucleus of a really good side."
As for division one, Kellett didn't know who to tip in the top tier.
"I'm interested to see division one," he said.
"Amongst them, there's a lot of Aussie reps in the over 60s and guys that are only just 60 and we haven't seen before.
"I've been playing in them for a while and this looks one of the tightest comps in a while."
The carnival starts Monday with a rest day Wednesday and the finals on Friday.
