A 21-year-old man is facing a charge of dangerous driving after an alleged high-speed late-night car chase in Tamworth on Saturday morning

Oxley police allege he failed to stop for a roadside breath test while driving his Nissan Navarra on Gunnedah Road in Taminda at about 3.15am.
A short time later, police located the vehicle driving along Gunnedah Road.
Police initiated a pursuit after the driver failed to stop when directed again, they said.
The utility allegedly reached speeds of up to up to 100km/h in a signposted 50km/h zone during the chase.
Oxley police say the vehicle came to a stop on Showground Road, Taminda, and the 21-year-old driver- was arrested and taken to Tamworth Police Station.
The Tamworth man was charged with not stopping during a police pursuit, driving dangerously and driving recklessly or furiously or at a dangerous speed or manner.
He will appear in Tamworth Local Court on Monday 6 December 2021.
