Scrubs up alright: Nundle locals get makeovers as Barbering Biker comes to town

Famous for going town to town on her huge Indian Motorcycle and cutting locals' hair for free, people were excited to see what sort of a makeover she could give to some well-known and somewhat scruffy locals.

Ms Keeble said she loved the atmosphere at Nundle, and was glad to have a couple of people step forward after her initial volunteer pulled out.

"I go from town to town, particularly focussing on country pubs, where the locals normally dob in someone who deserves a bit of lovin' from me, the Barbering Biker," she said.

"We found two gentlemen today, and I just come in and give them a haircut and a shave if they need it, and it's a bit of fun for the town."

First to receive the chop was Adam Price, who got dobbed in for the event last minute as after his friends told him to come down to the pub to check it out.

Given his hair had a run in with a candle last weekend, Mr Price admitted in was in need of some care, and was thrilled with the result - although perhaps not as thrilled as his partner.

"It feels so different having less hair, I'm not used to it because I don't normally cut my hair, I just let it grow wild until my wife yells at me for it," he said.

"She's smiling at me all happy again, so that's a plus for me."

Ms Keeble's biggest job for the day came in the shape of 58-year-old Scott Sneddon, who was boasting long, unkept hair and big bushy beard.

The transformation was extraordinary, and he was more than happy for Ms Keeble to unveil his new look to the crowd, who immediately swamped him for photos and a laugh.

The Barbering Biker is taking her skills to Tamworth on Monday, although she said her ambition goes well beyond the region, state and even the nation.

"I get to travel on my motorbike which is what this is about, it's how I can join up my trade of hairdressing with driving my motorbike," she said.

"It takes me around Australia and I'd love to go overseas and take this idea to the world."
