While he wants to get out there for his own enjoyment, he always want to see how his Bective-East side performs.
The captain knows it is unlikely he'll get to see his team perform this weekend with the rain around but is excited for the weeks ahead.

The return of quick Nick Hird is one addition to the side that Paterson is keen to see on the field.
"He [Hird] had a few injuries end of '19 and had a year or so off. Really keen to come back in and I think he's going to be a really good in for us," Paterson said.
"He'll give Kurt Barton another fast bowler to bowl with. He's probably the biggest in.
"Then there's a few guys coming up in second grade who are a bit more keen this year."
That includes a bunch of juniors which Paterson said adds depth to their squad.
"I think that's really the best part - some good juniors coming through who are going to be in second grade," Paterson said.
"They've already have had a few good digs in their rep stuff so they'll be putting a lot of pressure on us first graders to warrant our position in the side.
"I think the competition within the club is going to be really good this year."
Paterson said overall he was "very happy" with his side which will have a "bit better bowling attack" than last season and a lineup that "bats pretty deep".
"I think we're really going to put it to a few sides this year so we're really, really keen to hopefully get on the park sometime soon if the rain stays away," he said.
It hasn't stayed away this week.
After first grade was washed out last weekend, Tamworth got close to 70mm on Monday.
The rain returned on Wednesday and continued on and off through to Friday.
There is also a chance of 1-3mm of rain on Saturday while things are expected to have cleared by Sunday.
