Woolworths Cricket Blast coordinator Will Gell said they had around 60 junior blasters and just over 100 for the master blasters.
"It was wonderful," he said.
"I think it's lovely for the children to have some sport to play again."
."(And) With the Ashes on this year it's quite exiting to be playing cricket again."
For players from Kindergarten through to Year 3, Gell said the Blast program is a fun way to introduce kids to cricket.
"It's a great program," he said.
"Junior blasters (kindergarten to Year 1) is skills-based, just learning the basics of cricket and learning those skills in a few activities-based games."
"Master blasters (Year 2 and 3) is an introduction to match-play. We put them into teams and play modified games."
He added: "It's quite casual, we try and encourage the parents to get involved as much as they can.".
"It's just a really good community atmosphere down there."
Sessions run of a Saturday morning, for an hour for the junior blasters and hour-and-a-half for the master blasters, and will continue through to the first weekend in December before restarting again in Term 1.
If parents would still like to enroll their kids, Gell said they are keeping registrations open. Just go to play.cricket.com.au.
