Using potential as a gauge, the five-year-old gelding is the best Morgan's had at his Tamworth stables but now it's about producing performances on the track.
Edit has done that in his two starts with Morgan - a blistering win at Tamworth in the Spring Cup and a fourth placing in The Kosciuszko - but the gelding now faces a challenge of Everest-sized proportions.
Edit will strut his stuff in a class field of sprinters on Golden Eagle race day at Rosehill this Saturday against the likes of Eduardo, Masked Crusader and Gytrash.

Morgan is pragmatic in his assessment of Edit's chances against some of Australia's best sprinters in the $1 million Classique Legend Stakes (1300m) but insists the gelding won't "disgrace himself".
"It's racing in a different league on Saturday but speaking to [owners] Australian Bloodstock, they wanted to season him, harden him up, sort of play first grade a bit because he hasn't done much racing," Morgan said.
"We're not going down there expecting great things but if we could run top 10, he'd get a good cheque and good fitness from it."
Edit was also nominated for a benchmark 78 on Saturday but would have had to lug 61.5kg compared to the 56kg the gelding will carry in the Classique Legend Stakes.
That helped Morgan lean toward the stronger race and it's a decision the trainer is more than happy with.
"It's really exciting to see where he fits in at this level," he said of Edit who has three wins and two seconds from his eight starts.
"Blinkers are back on. He's as well as we can have him.
"So if he goes down there and runs midfield, well that's probably as good as he's ever going to do at that level but in saying that there's no higher level in Australia than what we're racing on Saturday."
This weekend's run is part of a bigger plan for Edit with targeted races on the horizon.
"He runs this week and then races on Hunter Day at Newcastle in two weeks time," Morgan said.
"All being well, he'll then be set toward the Country Championships next year."
Morgan will also saddle up Ice In Vancouver and Brave Enough in Saturday's TAB Highway Handicap (1200m).
The trainer said the horses were "both going well" heading into Saturday which just added to the occasion.
"To have two horses that are both good chances in a highway on a $7.5million race day is pretty exciting. I'm looking forward to it," he said.
