Nundle Twilight Christmas Markets: Organisers push back much-loved event at Nundle Woollen Mill grounds to December 4

Susan Rieger, who started the markets with friend Raegan Schofield, said it was too difficult for the small committee to go ahead with the event on November 13.

"You have to space out the stalls, you have to count how many people come in to do the two square metre rule, and then you have to check for the vaccination passports," she said.

"And it's just too hard for a small committee to do that."

The committee made the decision to postpone the event to December 4, under the condition that all restrictions will be lifted on December 1.

Ms Rieger said there has been a lot of interest from stall holders across the region for the event which will be held in the beautiful Nundle Woollen Mill grounds.

"We're wanting to create a German-European Christmas market with a really cozy feel," she said.

"We do a re-enactment of the nativity scene, and we get the whole community involved and the market just has a really nice feeling with all the Christmas lights and the music."

Santa will also make an appearance on the evening which will feature German inspired food, handmade products, music and face painting.

The markets run from 4.30pm to 8.30pm. Entry is $2 and free for kids under 12.
