The nationwide 'Hope in a Suitcase' initiative aims to help kids in the foster system by gifting them suitcases filled with essential items that will travel with them through their journey.
After hearing about the fundraiser on Facebook, local educator Jodie Flynn pitched the idea to the kids at Rainbow Cottage, who were eager to start packing the suitcases with joy.
"They wanted to help out other children that can't live with their mum and dad," she said.
"They've got these massive big lists which is really good."

Seeing the devastating circumstances foster kids had to deal with, Ms Flynn said it was something no child should have to experience.
"They turn up and they have nothing," she said.
"Their whole world is getting turned upside down."
Catering for kids of all ages, the suitcases have been packed to the brim with books, nappies, clothes, toys, toothbrushes and other essential items to help bring stability and normalcy to the lives of foster children.
"[The suitcases] give them a sense of ownership over something," she said.
"It will always be theirs."
Ms Flynn said the suitcases will go directly to local Tamworth foster kids and with a donation bin located outside the centre on Marius street she encouraged the wider community to get on board.
"This will only go to Tamworth families, local people," she said.
"We're happy to take donations off the general public."
