Tamworth recorded no new coronavirus cases in the latest COVID-19 update, despite an expanding outbreak in the broader health region.

The Hunter New England local health district recorded the state's second-highest coronavirus cases, with 73. South Western Sydney local health district recorded 74.
The district has now recorded 2198 cases of COVID-19 since August.
Nonetheless, Tamworth did not record an additional case in the updated statistics. It was the first time Tamworth went without a single new COVID-19 case since the beginning of the recent outbreak.

The bulk of the new cases were in Newcastle, with 19.
The state as a whole recorded 301 cases of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours to 8pm Saturday night. 10 people died as a result of the virus.
Coronavirus was detected in a sewerage sample taken in Armidale. It was the first positive result in the city since a sample taken on September 28. There are no known cases in the city.
There have been 78 cases of COVID-19 in Tamworth confirmed in the last four weeks. It's not known where 62 of those cases contracted the virus.
Gunnedah has recorded 16 cases, 12 of them without a known source of infection.
Maitland recorded 17.
There were 16 in Lake Macquarie, 12 in Cessock, six in the Mid Coast local government area, two in Port Stephens and one in Singleton.
27 cases were in isolation for their entire infectious period, 33 were infectious in the community, and 13 are still under investigation.
Forty five cases are linked to known exposures or clusters, 15 are unlinked, and the source of 13 cases is under investigation.
Two women infected with COVID 19 died overnight in the local health district, both in Newcastle, both double-vaccinated.
