Following the cancellation of the remainder of the winter season, the association pitched the idea of running a summer comp.
"There was strong interest in that to occur," president Dave McMurray said.
Now they are just waiting for a start date for community sport to resume.

"We're pretty keen to put something together to make it happen," McMurray said.
"And we want to do it for this current calendar year."
"Even if we only get a four-week window, we'll go ahead."
McMurray admits there is "a lot to work through", the vaccination provisions for one.
Under the roadmap announced by the NSW government last week, community sport will resume once the state has reached 80 per cent double vaccinations, but only double vaccinated adults (16+) and those with medical exemptions will be permitted to participate until December 1.
McMurray said they will take guidance from Baseball NSW around what their policy will be on that.
From the response they got when they put the feelers out on the TBI Facebook page, he anticipates they should be able to get four to five teams.
They are hoping to get a few more women's players and are also hoping past players will want to be involved.
As of yet they haven't pencilled in any start date, but McMurray said once they get a resumption date it shouldn't take long to put together.
"Once we get a green light we'll have maybe a week's window to get together as a committee and work out it's going to work," he said.
He said the idea of the competition is really to get the players back on the diamond after losing half of their regular season through wet weather and COVID.
They're hoping the more social feel might also encourage others to give the sport a try.
Games will be played of a Sunday afternoon from around 4pm.
