Rose Leggett and Jessica Louise Bruyn have cases adjourned for charges after alleged armed robbery in Oxley Vale, Tamworth

Rose Leggett and Jessica Louise Bruyn remain behind bars and did not appear in Tamworth Local Court earlier this week when their matters were adjourned.

The court heard Crown chambers were considering which charges to press ahead with against the pair.

Solicitor Max Dixon from the state prosecuting authority, the DPP, told the court he had received advice, and charges were being laid, when Ms Bruyn's case was mentioned.

He asked for a short delay and the matters are expected to proceed on the next occasion with the co-accused to appear in court via video link.

Magistrate Lisa Stapleton adjourned the cases for two weeks, to mid-October.

The two defence solicitors for the pair made no objection.

Neither co-accused applied for bail and it was formally refused.

Leggett and Bruyn were arrested on Duri Road a day after allegedly holding up a man and stealing his phone, wallet, hearing aids and Toyota Corolla in the early hours of May 4.

Police claim the women travelled to an Oxley Vale location with a 26-year-old man and entered a home before allegedly turning on him and threatening him with a knife and syringe.

The man was continually assaulted as he fled to a neighbouring property and was able to alert authorities when the co-accused fled, according to police.

Leggett and Bruyn are each charged with armed robbery; and aggravated take and drive a motor vehicle with a person in it or on it, while armed.

Leggett faces allegations of custody of a knife; and possess a prohibited drug. Bruyn is further charged with failing to submit to a breath test.

No pleas have been entered.
