RESIDENTS from Inverell, Glen Innes and Tenterfield will be offered a "rare opportunity" to speak with the acting prime minister on Thursday night, as Barnaby Joyce hosts a teleconference about COVID-19.

It will take place at 6pm on Thursday, and the New England MP has committed to allowing his constituents to express their views and make any suggestions they may have.
He has, however, said he cannot promise he will have all the answers.
"Politicians don't always have all the answers," he said.
"Nobody has a monopoly on wisdom so I want to throw the communication lines open to hear directly from my constituents.
"It's time to chat, exchange thoughts and ideas - even make constructive criticisms - and hopefully, we can all benefit from the conversation."
Mr Joyce said the virtual setting is today's equivalent to a town hall meeting, and will provide him with an excellent opportunity to hear what the biggest issues are within those communities.

With Glen Innes locked down after COVID cases were discovered, Mr Joyce is expecting there will be a range of questions about stay-at-home orders and how that nation-wide vaccination rollout is going.
There have been a number of scares in the New England electorate recently, with Tamworth also recording a confirmed case.
However, the 'country music capital' is yet to go into lockdown after the case was deemed as a 'low risk' threat to the community.
Phone invitations will be sent out on Wednesday evening, and those who are unable to participate are being encourage to contact Mr Joyce via his offices or website.
