Natasha Beth Darcy, 46, accused of acting with intent to pervert the course of justice in lead up to Walcha murder trial

The 46-year-old accused had the new allegations called in Tamworth Local Court for the first time earlier this week.

Police allege Darcy offered another woman $20,000 in a letter written from prison asking the woman to fabricate evidence in what was then Darcy's upcoming murder trial.

Darcy is facing two counts of acting with the intent to pervert the course of justice after police claim she also wrote a letter to the same woman offering her further money to fabricate evidence in the murder trial.

Police allege both offences were committed in Silverwater in the early hours of the morning, between 2am and 3am, at times when Darcy was in custody on charges for the 2017 murder of her partner in Walcha.

Court documents show she was charged with the two counts of acting with intent to pervert the course of justice by Oxley police in late July this year.

Magistrate Julie Soars adjourned the fresh charges for two months.

The case is set to go back before the court in early November and Ms Soars ordered Darcy to appear via video link on the next occasion.

Police will work towards compiling a brief of evidence in the matter before the next mention.

Court documents show Ms Soars noted police prosecutors had referred Darcy's new charges to the state prosecuting authority, the DPP.

Darcy has not yet been required to enter pleas to the two allegations.
