In the wake of Thursday's announcement that the statewide lockdown would be extended until September 10, NI regional coordinator Toby McVey met with Northern NSW Football (NNSWF) officials and his counter-parts via zoom yesterday to discuss the implications of the extension and the plan moving forward.
The consensus was to, if possible, complete the season.
"From our perspective we're keen to end the season on the pitch rather than call it off now," McVey said.

He will now over the coming days talk with the parties involved in the various competitions, which includes the Premier Division, Namoi League, Tamworth youth and seniors, Tamworth MiniRoos and Gunnedah MiniRoos/Youth.
"We'll consult with the clubs, and get the players and parents opinions as well," he said.
He said there are options to finish the season with one option abandoning the remainder of the regular season and going straight into the finals series. But that will be something they discuss with the clubs.
There has been no action since August 7 with Tamworth plunged into lockdown the following Monday and then the whole of regional NSW a few days later.
The Premier Division grand finals are set down for September 25 with the other competition finales on September 18. Unfortunately, McVey said they "don't have the ability" to extend the competitions beyond then but it does still give them a bit of time.
