The meeting was conducted under strict COVID protocols. No patrons were permitted to attend, and Ison was in his own racing world.
"The only time the [COVID] restrictions are going to affect me is if I want to head to Newcastle to take a drive," Ison said.

Newcastle has been forced into another week of lockdown.
On Thursday, Ison produced three perfectly judged front-running drives, with the 600m marker the commencement of his success in all three victories.
His winners are trained by his father, Andy.
Ison commenced his afternoon with the win of $1.90 race favourite Sir Macador in the Bearing Accessories Tamworth Pace.
Sir Macador triumphed by 4.4m over Uptotrix (Jemma Coney), with It Aint Royal (Richard Williams) 6.2 metres away in third place.
"That was his race," said Ison of the seven-year-old Mac Three gelding, who commenced from the one barrier before going on for an all-the-way win.
"He had the draw and there was a bit of a drop in class compared to what he is use to racing against."
Sir Macador, urged on by Ison, increased his lead from the 600m marker.
"Cronin [Maddison Simon] was putting a bit of pressure on and kept it interesting for a while but it was a good run by the horse [Sir Macador]," Ison said.
He said that his younger sister Molly "prepared the horse with a win at the trials on Tuesday night".
Molly, 15, is in the process of obtaining her reins licence.
"Molly drove him [Sir Macador] for a win at the trials on Tuesday night so we have to say she had a hand in the win [on Thursday]. It's great to see her coming through to gain her licence."
Point Oh Five was Ison's next winner. After commencing from the four barrier, the gelding shot straight to the lead and dictated the terms to take out the Beneficial Safety-Event Medic Pace.
As was the case with Ison's first win, an increase in race tempo from the 600m saw Point Oh Five race away for a 6.6m win over Nor Westa (Dean Chapple). Mac Stubborn (Anthony Varga) was 2.9m away in third place.
"We thought if we got to the front, he was in with a chance," Ison said of the McArdle five-year-old.
"I was looking to cross the one horse [McKinley] and then we got a cheap first quarter (32.2 seconds) so I felt confident of a win - he was just rolling along in the race.
"The horse has been good to us - Dad just loves him. He was the first horse that took Dad to Menangle for a Menangle Country Series Final."
Ison notched his third win behind I'm Compliant, the $1.65 race favourite.
I'm Compliant produced an all-the-way win in taking out the Hygain Traktorque Pace by a massive 32m over Casino Comedy (Sarah Rushbrook), with Amused (Richard Williams) seven metres away in third place.
"This horse has been such a headache," Ison said. "He finished third in the Armidale Cup back in May and it has been a matter of getting him right again after that run."
