Armidale also recorded no further cases.
NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian announced the state had recorded 344 new cases in the 24 hours to 8pm last night, with 65 of those infectious in the community for all or most of the infectious period.
"Regrettably there were two deaths overnight because of Delta, a man in his 90s who died in hospital overnight," she said.
"A man in his 30s died in hospital and we give our condolences to his family.
"In the regions Armidale still has no extra cases, Tamworth still has no extra cases."
The Dubbo local government area will enter a snap lockdown from 1pm today after two COVID-19 cases were confirmed in the area.
A release from lockdown at midnight on Thursday doesn't look good for Newcastle and the Hunter as the region recorded 14 new cases of COVID-19 today and the list of exposure sites continues to grow.
Ms Berejiklian said a decision will be made later this week based on health advice.
Dr Kerry Chant said the majority of the cases in the Hunter are linked but there are still some under investigation.
The Tamworth community is on high alert after NSW Health identified a sixth exposure site at Botanique flower shop on Peel Street.
Anyone who visited the shop on Thursday, August 5 from 9am to 9.05am is considered a casual contact of a confirmed coronavirus case and must isolate until they receive a negative test result.
Members of the community are being encouraged by local GP's and health officials to get the jab, as Armidale announces a 'Super Saturday' COVID-19 mass vaccination hub at the University of New England Medical Centre.
Doctors and nurses will administer the AstraZeneca vaccine to any member of the community over the age of 18 who presents and no bookings are needed.

The walk-in hub will be open between 10am and 3pm on Saturday, August 14 at the UNE medical centre on Butler Street.
COVID marshals will be present on the day to ensure safety standards are met.
