Chapple is just two wins away from 700 wins in a 35-year career.
"It has been a hard slog to get to this mark," he said. "Back in the day, when I first moved up here to Tamworth, they were only racing every two weeks, so there was limited opportunity."

The former Hunter Valley reinsman and trainer commenced his career in 1986, when he was a regular at Newcastle Paceway and his home track of Maitland.
"I didn't realise that I was that close to 700 wins until recently, when my son Jack pointed it out to me," he said.
Chapple will head into the Tamworth meeting after driving a double behind Major Noah William and Peggy Sue Shannon at Tamworth on July 29.
Chapple has seen plenty of highs in his career.
"I have had a real good run over the years - I have driven at Menangle and Harold Park in Breeders Challenge finals and in Group 1 races.
"But I think my biggest thrill was going to Broken Hill earlier this year and driving three winners on the program at my first visit there."
Leaving his "Gully Lodge" property at Moonbi, Chapple travelled the 11-hour trip to Broken Hill to contest the big Carnival of Cups meeting.
He won the $16,000 Rocky Baker Memorial Pacing Cup (2500m) with Right On With It, with stablemates Don't Tell Dorothy and Nor Westa also picking up wins at the meeting.
There is still plenty for Chapple to achieve in the sport.
"I always wanted to take the three big races at Tamworth, and I have succeeded with one - in taking out the Gold Nugget back in 2012 with Churchill Bromac."
He is still eyeing the other two races: the Tamworth City Cup and the Golden Guitar final.
The program on Thursday afternoon is looking to be a pearler for Chapple and he is confident that success may come in the opening event.
"Apollon [who he trains] is in with a bit of a chance: he finished fourth at Newcastle last start and they ran 1min 55.9sec over the 1609m," Chapple said.
"And Tralee Rocks, for Ernie Mabbott, is another good chance. She is in top form at the moment and looking for three wins on the trot."
Chapple will also drive Our Channelle, Smiling and Nor Westa - all from his stables - as well as the Mabbott-trained Spikeador, the Ron Neal-trained Glen Innes Boy and I'm So Better from the Tony Missen stables.
