One day the committee would like to see age groups from under 6s through to 14s which could then flow right into the senior ranks.
This season anywhere up to 60 kids have been turning out on a Sunday for a hit.
Richard Bullock, who helps run the juniors, said it was all about ensuring the future of the sport in Tamworth.
"I'm 50 this year, we've got guys in their mid-30s so we've realised that Tamworth Baseball will be no more unless we build these juniors up," he said
"It was actually my wife Hayley who recognised that there was a heap of kids running around here at senior baseball so why not organise them into some sort of comp."
Junior baseball will continue to run throughout term three on a Sunday with the hope that numbers will increase.
The plan is to run a proper junior competition in 2022 - uniforms and all.
"We're already giving them gloves and everything to play with but we've got sponsors on board and we can get them uniforms when we can get a competition organised," Bullock said.
On Sunday, the juniors were back on the field for the second week in a row after a few weeks off due to the rain.
"It's good to be back, we've got a good day and lucky we've got some great facilities to run them on," Bullock said.
