MANY events have been cancelled in recent times, but the Tamworth Running Festival went ahead on Sunday and perhaps unsurprisingly people were excited to get out and about.

Almost 400 people attended the outdoor event on Sunday morning, with families, teenagers and professional runners turning out to take part in a number of different runs.
From the half marathon to the tiny tots walk, locals were pleased to get active and support a good cause while doing it.
Funds from the festival will go towards local community groups such as Bullimbal School, Tamworth Lions, Peel Lions and Tri Freedom.
Tamworth Triathlon Club runs the event, and secretary Greg Poetschka said everything went incredibly smoothly and the community was grateful to take part.
"The general feedback from all the people was that it was really great they could actually go out and do it," he said.
"I had a lot of people coming up and saying 'thank you for actually putting the event on and doing your best'."

In terms of COVID protocols, Mr Poetschka said everyone was extremely understanding of the situation and did everything required without any fuss.
"We basically hit the target that we were capped to, which is great.
"The morning rolled really well, we actually separated the races further apart, which seemed to work really well," he said.
"People obeyed all the COVID regulations, everyone was scanning in and wearing masks before their race and putting it back on after it."
On top of that, he said some athletes were able to show off their fitness and ran some really good times, which is fitting given the athletics events recently started at the Tokyo Olympics.
