South United have moved to second place on the ladder after a 2-1 win over Gunnedah, although Souths coach Darrel Mole lamented what might have been.

The Gipps Street triumph on Saturday afternoon was Souths' seventh win this year, against three losses, but Mole said the scoreline did not reflect the contest's true nature.
He said: "Talk to anyone who watched the game and they would have told you that it probably should've been a lot more than that.
"I'm hesitant to say we dominated anything, but we were very much the stronger side - and, realistically, we should've had a lot more goals than we did yesterday [Saturday]."
He added: "But overall, a win's a win."
The triumph moved South United above North Companions on the table, after Northies lost 2-1 to OVA on Saturday.

With six rounds left, undefeated reigning premiers OVA are 11 points clear of Souths, who are one point clear of Northies.
Gunnedah, who were once in second place, are now fourth - six points behind South United.
Mole said Lachlan Smith pulled off a number of good saves in goal for Souths.
He added: "We are pretty happy. It's looking okay; the boys are pretty upbeat. And yeah, we're sort of on target for where we want to be."
At Johnson Field on Saturday, Moore Creek trounced Kootingal 5-0.
