The reshaped Magpies scored eight tries to three in a convincing 24-point win that moved them off the bottom of the table.
Teenagers Riley Leonard, Charlie Parsons, Malik Hunt and Dylan Smith were outstanding, Magpies co-coach Tom Brown said.
"A great win for us," he added. "It was hard fought, though.

"Boggy never gave up and kept the pressure on us. Our four under- 18s (Leonard, Parsons, Hunt and Smith) were really good for us again. They all stepped up again."
Brown said it was "good watching them have a crack".
"Malik was great again, played in the centres this week (after scoring two tries on the wing in his debut last week)."
The form of the four teenagers also enabled co-coach Cody Tickle and the ever-dangerous Millgate brothers, Harlee and Isaah, to instigate many attacking moves.
Moving Tickle to halfback ended in triumph for the back-rower.
"Cody's got the vision and the communication," Brown said.
"Wop (Harlee) and Narn (Isaah) were great. They were free to attack and do what comes natural to them."
The Magpies lost Beau Parry early to injury but that didn't deter the home side as Marcus Doran led the way up front with a big game.
Boggabri coach Shane Rampling was disappointed with the result but not the effort from his side.
Second-rower Aaron Hobden and fullback Isaiah Adams were the best for the Roos, sharing the players' player award.
Roos captain Matt Gillham was also in the thick of the action throughout.
"We're struggling," Gillham said. "It's been a bit disappointing the last couple of weeks. While we have nothing to play for in terms of a premiership, we're playing for a bit of pride."
