Nine teams from Tamworth, Quirindi, Inverell, Armidale, Gunnedah and Glen Innes will all take part in the first round of the Northern Inland Regional League across two divisions.
As well as the title of champion, spots in the Northern Inland representative team will be up for grabs.
"The representative team gets selected from across both divisions," Northern Inland regional manager Ashlee Van Katwyk said.
"It's an age group eligibility [team]. The state selectors are looking at 16 to 22-year-olds in teams across both divisions."

The format of selecting a regional representative team is a change on past years. Previously the winning team would progress through to the Netball NSW Regional State Cup.
Van Katwyk said this change was made "to provide further opportunities to regional athletes".
The regional state cup is slated to be played in October but whether it goes ahead will be determined by the COVID-19 situation at that time.
"Fortunately, we don't have to consider that right now. It's something we'll look at closer to October but at this point we're still hoping to go ahead," Van Katwyk said.
"Last year would have been the first year we ran the regional state cup with the changes. We're hoping we can get it off the ground this year."
After the first round of regional league matches are played in Tamworth on Sunday, the finals will then be played on August 15.
