DETAILS remain scant on a proposed $12.5 million industrial estate set for Gunnedah.

Sydney company Barr Planning submitted a DA for the substantial development on July 9 for the project at Mathias Road.
The Gunnedah Shire Council (GSC) website reveals the application is industry (rural/warehouse/extractive) but its environmental impact statement and other documents are not available.

A GSC spokeswoman said the application is for a six lot Torrens title subdivision and the construction of a warehouse, including internal driveway, services and landscaping.
"The development will create six industrial lots from the existing lot. The development will also include a large industrial building on one of the proposed lots which will include four separate units," she said.
It's unclear how many jobs the project will create or which businesses will be tenants.
The multi-million dollar project has yet to win the council's approval.
GSC did not respond to a question about which company was behind the scheme.
It would be the largest new development for the rural town since MacKellar Group applied to build a $3.9 new waste recycling facility on Torrens Road.
The waste recycling project, which is still before the planning system, would create about 30 jobs.
