The Gunnedah boxer scored a TKO (technical knockout) victory against Troy O'Meley to defend his International Boxing Organisation Super Welterweight title.
Following the victory at the Newcastle Entertainment Centre on the Tim Tszyu-Stevie Spark undercard, Ryan''s now chasing bigger things.
While all the details are still to be ironed out, trainer David Syphers did say Ryan's next bout could be on another huge card.
"We're looking at another belt and, maybe, it could be on another Tszyu undercard in late September," Syphers said.
"We'll know in the next couple of weeks."
Wednesday night's victory was Ryan's second against O'Meley with the fight stopped at the end of the sixth round. Syphers said Ryan won well.
"Boxing's boxing. You don't know what's going to happen until the fight. I believe it was quite a clinical display of boxing," Syphers said.
The Black N Blue Boxing trainer added: "He's a championship fighter.
"He does get better after a few rounds. As it goes on he gets stronger. He was hitting him [O'Meley] a lot harder and more often in the later rounds."
Syphers has trained Ryan for 16 years and said it was rewarding to score the win that takes the boxer's record to 19 wins from 28 bouts.
"We did a lot of work for this. We train hard and put our life into it and this is the result we're getting," he said.
