Wade Ryan has defended his International Boxing Organisation Super Welterweight title in defeating Troy O'Meley at the Newcastle Entertainment Centre on Wednesday night.

The Gunnedah boxer won via TKO at the end of the sixth round.
The win takes Ryan's record against O'Meley to 2-0 and his overall record to 19-9 from 28 fights.
Ryan now has three wins on the trot after bouncing back from successive losses back in 2019.
Before the fight, trainer David Syphers had predicted to see the best from Ryan who went in feeling relaxed and focused.
"He should show his improvement tomorrow [Wednesday] night," Syphers said on Tuesday.
