The Blues earned a pass mark from their captain-coach Jake Rumsby.
"It was a good win. We were good in patches," Rumsby said.
"We led by 30 but then started to push passes. That was disappointing. I was also guilty of it too. Once we control that (mistakes) we'll be a dominant side."
Rumsby didn't name any standout players, just adding that "it was a good group performance".
"Chris (Hunt) had a good game for his first game and fitted in well. Toby Bentley got injured early and is going to have scans on his knee."
That meant Hayden Bell moved from centre into the halves with Hunt and showed the versatility of the players Rumsby has in his squad.
They have needed to be.
"We've had a shocking run with injury. That's the biggest disappointment of the season so far," Rumsby said.
Werris Creek Magpies worked hard but were outgunned as co-coaches Thomas Brown and Cody Tickle try to find ways to ignite their side.
"We fought hard," Tickle said. "We had a few injuries and were up against it but the boys tried their hearts out. We just weren't quite there."
He said Isaah Millgate had "another massive game" while Marcus Doran and Kieran Williams were also strong.
"Kieran was tough and good," Tickle added. "He also got our players' player [nod]."
