A TAMWORTH man has pleaded guilty to having a knife, weapon and suspected stolen goods with him when he was stopped by police in March.

Leon Prince was due to face a hearing in Tamworth Local Court on Friday, but instead pleaded guilty to four charges against him.
The 21-year-old admitted to having a knife in a public place; possessing a prohibited weapon; shoplifting; and having goods suspected of being stolen.
Prince was driving along Scott Road in Tamworth when he was stopped by officers just after 5am on March 31. He was on parole at the time.

The police case was that Prince had a knife, as well as what police claimed was knuckledusters.
Following the guilty pleas, magistrate Julie Soars set a sentencing date later this year, and ordered Prince to remain behind bars.
Prince was refused bail after his arrest and was briefly released in the weeks following, before returning to custody in May.
He made no application for bail on Friday and it was formally refused.
The case was adjourned.
