After coming off the bench in their opening 17-all draw with the Western Force on Thursday, the Pirates star was elevated to the starting side and opened the scoring for the newcomers in just the second minute of the game when she pounced on a loose pass from the Brumbies to score under the posts.
Prop Candice Clay doubled the President's advantage a few minutes later before the Brumbies hit back with two tries of their own to cut their lead back to 12-10 at half-time.

A penalty from five-eighth Ella Ryan early in the second half saw the Brumbies take the lead. But it was short-lived with Jasmin Huriwai steaming onto a perfectly-weighted grubber from Tylah Vallance to put the PXV ahead again with 20 minutes to play.
From there it was a real arm wrestle, the PXV's defence holding firm as they ground out a 19-13 win.
It is Nielsen's third Super W campaign after playing for the Force (then-Rugby WA) the previous two editions.
She isn't the only player with local connections featuring in the competition with Moree's Ashleigh Walker suiting up for the Waratahs.
They were scheduled to tackle the Force in the last game on Sunday but it was cancelled after the Western Australian side decided to pull out of the competition due to the COVID situation in NSW.
The next round is due to be played in Coffs on Wednesday. An update to the fixtures in light of the Force's withdrawal is expected to be announced in the coming days.
