The final five races of Tamworth Jockey Club's winter showcase meeting have been abandoned after concerns were raised over the state of a section of the track.

Racing NSW reported that following the running of the third race, stewards, club officials and riders expressed concerns with the deterioration of the section between the 600m and 400m as the meeting progressed.
The decision was then made to postpone the remainder of the meeting.

Stewards and club officials had inspected the track on Friday morning after 20mls of rain overnight and rated it a Heavy 10.
It had been a good meeting for the local trainers with the Cody Morgan-trained Kanalaide winning the opening race and Troy O'Neile's Beckford the third.
The annual Talmoi picnic race meeting scheduled for Saturday has also been postponed due to the track being deemed unsuitable to race on after the recent rainfall.
