The three-year-old has enjoyed a sensational career with his owner-trainer but will be passed on to someone else as Syphers, who also breeds greyhounds, has "about 25" puppies coming into his kennels.
From 39 starts, Murphey has a win strike rate of 49 per cent and a place strike rate of 82 per cent.

In his 40 years in the game, Syphers rates Murphey as one of, if not, his best greyhounds.
"I've had some good dogs - some really, really good dogs - but this little dog here is the fastest I've had," Syphers said.
Before Murphey parts ways with Syphers, the Curlewis trainer has some races in mind for his dog.
First off the bat, is the Mikeloren Patisserie Tamworth Cup this Saturday.
Murphey is the reigning champion and overcame a minor foot injury to register the fastest time in the 2021 heats.
He'll line up from box six and Syphers is expecting the greyhound to get back and fly home.
"He hasn't been jumping at all," Syphers said.
"Not real sure why he's doing it now, he used to be alright at the jump.
"We had him in the Chief Havoc a couple weeks ago, he was beaten by a nose and he came from last. That's what he's been doing."
And if Murphey was to jump well?
"He might break the record," Syphers said of the "airborne" greyhound.
Syphers also thought Murphey came into this year's cup an improved greyhound compared to the 2020 cup.
"I think he's better, better conditioned.
"He's more focused on this year than last year," he said.
Tamworth isn't the grand final for Murphey, Wentworth Park will be in September.
"I've prepared him for all these races and another one in Sydney and that will be the end of it," Syphers said.
"It's a masters race on Million Dollar Chase night. That's the one I've been prepping him for all year."
The masters race is worth $100,000 and Syphers is hoping Murphey can go well in the heats to qualify.
A win in Tamworth will set him in the right direction.
This Saturday's Tamworth Cup also doubles at the Tamworth Greyhound Racing Club's family fun day.
There will be a jumping castle for the kids while there will also be a canteen and full bar.
Along with the $33,000 up for grabs on the 10-race card, there will also be kids giveaways, lucky gate and lucky trainer prizes.
The first race jumps at 1.30pm.
