A MIDDLE-AGED man has been taken to Tamworth hospital with suspected spinal injuries after a two-car crash on Reading Road, Gunnedah, just after 7:15am.

Four NSW Ambulance crews and the Westpac Rescue Helicopter, including a critical care doctor and paramedic were tasked to treat two injured patients at the scene.
A woman in her 20's was treated for a suspected head and chest injury and was airlifted to Tamworth hospital in a stable condition.
A man in his 50's was treated for a suspected spinal injury and taken to Tamworth hospital in a stable condition, NSW Ambulance Inspector Kim Summers said.
"Responding to a motor vehicle accident is always concerning, you never know the full extent of the patient's injuries until you arrive on scene," she said.
"Paramedics and other emergency services safely extricated the woman while providing ongoing treatment in a very difficult environment.
"We encourage everyone to drive to the conditions, as we head into the winter months please slow down and drive with caution."

A YOUNG woman is being treated by paramedics after she suffered a potentially serious head injury in a car crash at Gunnedah.
The Westpac Rescue Helicopter, emergency services and paramedics rushed to the scene on Reading Road this morning to treat the woman in her 20's.
A man in his 50's is being treated as well, but NSW Ambulance paramedics are yet to diagnose the seriousness of his injuries.
