Tamworth Country Music Festival 50th anniversary 2022: Aleyce Simmonds launches big, blow-up Golden Guitar on tour

As Tamworth Country Music Festival's 50^th anniversary inches closer, a replica Golden Guitar will head across the country in an effort to blow-up the country music capital's reputation.

Singer Aleyce Simmonds has two of the real ones on her mantle at home, and said she can't wait for 2022 after the music industry was dealt a blow by COVID-19.

"We lost our jobs in COVID, but the blow-up Golden Guitar has a job, it's going on tour so keep an eye out for it on socials, there will be lots of artists like Fanny Lumsden, Amber Lawrence, Brooke and Adam Eckersley will be popping up all over Australia with this beautiful Golden Guitar," she said.

"This is the perfect year for everyone to come, of course we couldn't do much last year so hopefully we have a little bit more money in the kitty and it's time to tick one off that bucket list and come to Tamworth."

The guitar is headed to Tooma, Coogee, Wang Wauk, the Opera House, Harbour Bridge and Bondi Beach.

It's one of a number of exciting new projects in the works for the 50^th anniversary, including a fundraiser to create a bronze bust of Australian country music legend John Williamson.

Tamworth Country Music Festival 2022 is on January 14 to 23.
