Tamworth break-and-enter: Eric Tighe's charges for aggravated break-and-enter adjourned for bail application

Eric Tighe, 31, appeared in the dock of Tamworth Local Court and was supported in court by a family member.

Aboriginal Legal Service solicitor Gemma Ridley made no bid for bail, but asked the court for a short adjournment.

"He is not making a bail application," she told the court.

"I will be in a position to make a bail application on Friday."

Magistrate Julie Soars granted the adjournment and set down a bail review for the end of the week, but asked Ms Ridley to be ready to go.

"I don't want to keep bringing people before the court," she explained.

The court heard the adjournment was necessary because Tighe's solicitor was in the process of making inquiries about where the accused could go if he was released from custody.

Tighe is accused of a raft of offences, after he was arrested by the Oxley Proactive Crime Team in West Tamworth on Monday morning. Several of the charges are domestic violence-related.

Tighe has been charged with resisting arrest; aggravated break-and-enter and commit a serious indictable offence while armed; two counts of destroying and damaging property; two counts of intimidation with the intent to cause physical harm; and two counts of contravening an AVO.

He has not been required to enter pleas to the charges.

The case was adjourned for a bail review.
