The Picnic Train's David Bottin said tickets normally sell fast, and there is a wide variety of people who take interest in the trip.
"Everyone loves steam trains because of the sights, the smells, the sounds," he said.
"So you get people from young kids to grown adults right through to grandparents who can remember riding around on steam trains when they were younger."
The trips take about one hour each, and will leave Tamworth Station at 8:50am, 11am, 12:15pm and 1:55pm.
Tickets are available on the organisation's website.
