"They are never easy down there, no matter what side they have," he said. "We're under no illusions. We will have to play well.
"Those Millgate boys (Harlee and Isaah) have grown an extra leg the last few weeks, I reckon."
Magpies co-coach Cody Tickle said halfback Harlee and five-eighth Isaah were "very dangerous" in the side's 22-18 loss to the Kangaroos at Boggabri last round,
McManus saw the brothers up close when he coached them in the Greater Northern Tigers side this year, and he knows they are talented players.
He has had to make a few changes to his side that had to work hard to beat Moree 34-16 last Saturday.
Halfback Bailey Taylor is out (work) and Josh Schmiedel is being given more time to get his ankle right.
"We want him back for the back end of the season," McManus said.
Brock Wadwell comes back into the squad after missing last week, with young hooker Liam Ball named at halfback.
"I'm not sure how much halfback he's played but we'll find out on Saturday," McManus said.
"He's a bit like Mitch (Sheridan) was when he first joined us. Mitch filled in everywhere for us when he first joined us, and at the moment Liam is doing that too."
Tickle stated the obviously when he said the Bears would provide "tough" opposition.
"But we have players returning and have the combinations there to play some good football," he said.
