The program aims to "inspire young swimmers and students to approach challenges and opportunities with a confident attitude and positive mindset".
"I do enjoy getting out there and talking to the kids and inspiring other swimmers and athletes to realise their potential," McKeon told the Leader on Friday.
The Sydneysider's visit to Tamworth took in Tamworth City Swimming Club, Peel High, Gunnedah High, Barraba Central School, Bingara Central School and Oxley High.
The swimming coach competed at the Rio Olympics and the London Olympics.
He won gold in the 800m freestyle relay and silver in the 400m freestyle at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
