Man injured in horse accident on farm at Coneac, south of Nowendoc, near Tamworth

The elderly man, aged in his late 70s, was injured while near a horse on the property at Coneac, south of Nowendoc.

Ambulance NSW received the first triple zero call for help about 4.30pm on Monday to reports a man had been knocked off his feet by a horse.

Paramedics arrived on scene and found the elderly man had been pushed over by a horse, and had fallen onto concrete.

He was conscious but suffered wrist and pelvic injuries.

The Westpac Rescue Helicopter was tasked from Tamworth with a specialist medical team on board, because of the remoteness of the property.

The team stabilised the patient at the scene before he was flown to John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle.

He was reported to be in a stable condition.
