A SLEW of charges are ready to be confirmed against a man accused of a violent attack at a Tamworth taxi rank before he was chased down by the police dog, a court has heard.

Ryley Douglas Mackay did not appear in Tamworth Local Court this week, but the court heard police had compiled their evidence against him.
"It's travelling along really well, the brief is compliant," police prosecutor Sergeant Rob Baillie told the court.
The matter was adjourned to July, when it's expected the DPP will rubber-stamp the charges they intend to proceed with.

Mackay is facing a raft of charges related to three incidents in Tamworth in the early hours of New Year's Day.
The 24-year-old is accused of punching a 41-year-old man at a taxi rank in the Tamworth CBD during a violent attack that left the alleged victim in hospital with bleeding on the brain.
Police claim officers tracked Mackay to Bridge Street but he managed to escape and run away after a struggle.
The brief is compliant.

He was cornered by police dog Alpha shortly after and arrested, before being taken to Tamworth hospital for injuries.
He was charged with wounding a person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm; assault occasioning actual bodily harm; common assault; assaulting a police officer; and escaping custody.
Magistrate Julie Soars ordered Mackay's strict conditional bail to continue.
The case will return to court in July.
